Overview

Why the supply side matters

A heating system depends on a sound fuel supply. Loose connections, deteriorating pipework or faulty valves on the supply side can affect how the equipment runs and need attention before they become a bigger problem.

Our inspection covers the supply pipework and connections within the property that serve your heating equipment, the relevant valves and associated equipment, and the safety-related aspects of the installation that can be observed and checked during the visit. We then explain what we found and recommend any corrective work.

If you smell gas, do not wait for an inspection

Do not operate electrical switches or use any flame. Open doors and windows, turn off the gas supply at the meter if it is safe to do so, leave the building and call your gas company's emergency helpline from outside.

About inspections

An inspection reports on what we can observe and check during the visit. It does not guarantee the safety of the installation and is not a compliance certificate. Work on the gas company's meter and service line is the responsibility of the gas company.

Call us
01Does an inspection certify that my system is safe?

No. An inspection reports on what we observe and check at the time of the visit, and recommends corrective work where needed. It is not a safety guarantee or a compliance certificate.

02Do you inspect systems that use fuels other than natural gas?

Tell us which fuel your heating uses when you enquire, and we will confirm whether the inspection covers it.

03What if you find a problem?

We explain the issue and recommend corrective work. If you would like us to carry it out, we provide a quotation first.

04Does the inspection include the gas meter?

No. The meter and the service line up to it belong to the gas company. Our inspection covers the supply pipework and connections within the property that serve your heating equipment.

05Should I book an inspection before restarting my heating for winter?

Before the first cold weather is a sensible time, particularly if the system has been off for months or there has been building work in the property.
